Start with the spaces people use
Before requesting a quotation, describe the rooms, workstations and equipment affected by your refurbishment. Is the concern uneven lighting, tired fittings, additional workspaces or a wider upgrade? A clear description gives the conversation a useful starting point.
Explain the working day
Tell us when the office is occupied and which areas must remain accessible. Include the intended programme and any other trades involved. These details help frame a discussion about access, the proposed scope and the information still needed.
Make the quotation easier to review
Ask what is included, which equipment is proposed and what needs to be confirmed after a site assessment. Compare quotations against the same scope. A useful project conversation should leave you able to explain what work you are considering and what the next step is.
Keep electrical work with qualified people
Electrical faults and repairs should be assessed by a qualified electrician. This article is a planning checklist, not instructions for opening equipment or carrying out electrical work. Eskom also advises using a qualified electrician for electrical repairs.
